About Lora Vega

Working with Lora Vega means working with Tucson’s best.

Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Lora Vega is a second-generation native of the Old Pueblo. She attended Amphi High School and studied math at Grand Canyon University before getting married and starting a family. Lora completed her Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Phoenix in 2000. In 2004, she completed her license in Arizona as a certified public accountant.

Accounting and Financial Advising: A Family Affair

Lora’s father, Kyle DeFoor, was a CPA who practiced in Tucson for decades. Lora spent some time working with her father at his firm. In 2006, when he was preparing to retire, Lora went to work with a group of emergency room physicians that were looking to bring someone in house to handle their accounting and financial matters. She also maintained her own private CPA practice on the side. In 2012, the physicians group dissolved giving Lora the opportunity to grow her own practice full-time.

“It’s in the blood” said Lora of her natural affinity for crunching numbers. “I’ve always loved numbers. Math is my favorite subject.”

Relationships that Count

In addition to her 25 years of accounting experience and 15 years as a CPA, there are other factors that set Lora apart from her competition. Lora believes heavily in making her clients her first priority and getting to know them as people.

“I care about my clients,” Lora said. “It’s not all about the money; it’s about relationships.”

Giving Back to Tucson

In addition to living and working in Tucson, Lora also enjoys giving back to her community through volunteerism. She recently became a member of the board of Mentoring Tucson’s Kids, a 501(c)3 non-profit that matches at-risk youth with adult mentors. Lora also began volunteering as the visitor host for her BNI Chapter, A Better Referral, in the summer of 2019. Additionally, she has served as a member of the hospitality team for her church, Calvary Chapel Tucson, since 2016.

Family Business & Fun

After investing in her life, work, and volunteerism, Lora enjoys a bit of play right here in Tucson as well. She was very involved as a mother when her two daughters were in high school and college through the sports of dance, golf, and softball. She even began golfing herself in April 2019 and has fallen in love with the sport. Her favorite course in Tucson is the Fred Enke Golf Course. She now takes time to hit the links with her friends as often as she can. She also enjoys spending family time shopping and eating out with her daughters.
